Our Story

In the early 1990s, Romania was going through a period of profound transformation - the transition from a centralized economy to a market economy. In this context of change and opportunity, two engineers chose to take their own risk and build something lasting.

ALEA JACTA EST - the famous saying of the great Roman emperor Caesar, spoken at the crossing of the Rubicon, gave through the initials of its Romanian translation the name of ZAFA company, and through the symbol it represents, the moral support for approaching the true path of value in the real economy.

With this name and based on the ideas it represents, Eng. Nicolae Neacșu and Eng. Viorel Mirescu founded the company in 1991. ZAFA started from scratch: entirely private capital, with no history prior to the year of founding - neither as a company, nor as equipment or market.

The first steps were marked by hard work and continuous learning. In 1995, we entered the European market of agricultural machinery manufacturers, building solid partnerships that allowed us to grow and consolidate our expertise in precision manufacturing. In parallel, we developed as producers of metal structures for industry and commerce.

The year 2005 marked a new stage: entry into the German market of airport and port equipment manufacturers. This diversification was the natural result of accumulated competencies and our constant commitment to quality and innovation.

Today, more than three decades since that first step, ZAFA is a trusted partner for prestigious European companies, with a team of professionals dedicated to excellence.
